It shines
Restless it moves closer
Striking a nerve
In a system of life
Gnawing the bones
Off the glowing tree
The forest twists and turns
It all cracks open
Sap and blood will ooze
Raindrops keep falling
From a sky with no clouds
Falling from beyond
And tearing in to rotten soil
The star burns out
Dark with lifeless beams
Nothing grows taller than
A mountain made from
The carcass of a world
Long since forsaken by life
The air polluted by the rotting smell
A world in its final winter
The falling snow
Tastes like ash
On the pinnacle of death
A glowing beast stands
Stretching its crooked wings
Reaching out to swallow the sun
Wings spreading
Feathers like silk
Casting black shadows
Eating into the core
The basis of life
Torn from the air
Gravity bends
Shaping a new order
A beak is hacking
Into the dark waves
Birds from beyond life
Flies over the fields
Towards a black horizon
Raindrops kept falling
