Not long ago
I saw that Gate
And it was terrifying
Death, Flames, Disease
My blood and sweat were cold
But now what I’ve done
What I’ve become
Past and present fortunes
The spoils of war leave
Fear and Hatred
And now my time
Close at hand
And I’m clear on this
The salty soil
The conflict’s final setting
For me to return
Forcefully burned
Torn from my haven
The blood’s alive
The fear is strong
The stratum is pervaded with aeriform
My wits unsleeping, and the scenes are taking shape
In my frontal, that icon standing tall
Will mean my imminent exit from life, or it’s fall
…and now
Once again
That Gate in my sight
Approach is simplified
My veins are warm
My hate is activating
I’ve learned enough in my years
The time has come for the quietus
The past is more than a prophecy
I enter sadly.
