My pathway to a life without Him
Shrouded in darkness and hate
“How could I follow the faith of the Christians?”
Sealing my hellbound fate
My eyes saw red and I lusted for blood
To the pure I was so unkind
Consumed with hate for God’s people
Like him who spent three days blind
There are many out for the blood of God’s people
But I didn’t wish to rot with the world
I no longer long for Earthly cliques
To be accepted in some crowd
My home is in heaven with my beloved God
Where he will grant me a crown
The heart of a murderer
Once a hater of the Christians
I warred with the almighty
And he won every time
He never longed to be my enemy
But I cursed him and I mocked him
My legs whipped out from under me
Humbled I began to see
I was as Saul
And long to be like Paul
I would give my life
For Christ who died for me
I was as Saul

I would gladly die
Before I reject Christ
I donned the symbols of Satan
On my own road to Damascus
But when pride left my rotten heart
The truth revealed himself from Heaven
