Grew up by the ocean

Seekin’ out the blue in the shades of grey, like a poem

Or soliloquies, it was only me in a broken home

So I’d spend my nights sitting watching tides ever flowing

Drinking and smoking

A third divorce it rained, it poured

And I got high to feel something

The sea is wild and volatile

I used to live in fear of it

But now I run like water

Let currents pull me far from shore

I anchor down and I swim
