Since before the beginning of all things
The Father had planned out our existence
He gave us an alternate option
So our love for him may be more genuine as a choice
And his all-powerful voice
Commanded the universe into existence
For the wages of sin is death
Imperfect we needed a lamb
Spilled was the blood of God in the flesh
So that we aren’t doomed to be damned
First he arrived in human flesh
But will return with eyes like a flame
All powerful upon a pure white horse
Before him all evil be slain
The word of Almighty like a double-edged sword
Erupting from his holy lips
He perished the first time willingly
Suffering he gave us this
Eternal salvation from our imperfect ways
From the sin that taints our souls
Joined into his holy communion
As he sits upon the Father’s throne
I can’t fathom the love he has for a wretched soul like mine
My very flesh is his enemy, I don’t deserve this blessed life
No weapon I own compares to his might who vanquished legions from his sight
Without him I’ll always be wicked, nothing I do can make me right
How wicked are we that we would kill the only perfect man?
His blood he spilled for me, before he ascended to the Father’s right hand
Unfathomable it truly is that the God who created everything
Would love and save a disgusting person like me
Why would the Creator of the sun and moon and stars love me?
